Prehistoric Temples Tour

There have been civilisations on the Maltese islands for millennia so now it’s your turn, as a modern visitor to the archipelago, to look back its ancient past and discover some of its fascinating megalithic temples, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temples are the oldest free-standing structures in the world and are well-worth a visit. Your coach will first drive to Ghar Dalam, an extremely important paleontological, archaeological and ecological site, where the earliest evidence of human settlement on Malta, around 7,400 years ago, was discovered. The site consists of a cave, a set of exhibits, as well as a garden planted with indigenous plant species. Next on your list, you will visit the dual site of the Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Temples, found on a hilltop on the southern edge of the island. You will have an opportunity to explore these fascinating sites one by one before being taken back to your drop-off destination.
